Objectives
Its aim is to strengthen intercultural understanding and support the personal and professional development of young people. The volunteering project Experience Value of Different Cultures was designed to promote intercultural exchange between local youth and international volunteers, increase participation in European projects, and foster active European citizenship. Volunteers were encouraged to contribute to ongoing project work and to design their own initiatives, gaining practical experience in teamwork, communication, and intercultural cooperation.
Implementation
The project involved volunteers from Spain, Austria, and Türkiye. Activities combined daily support in the association’s European project work with youth-focused tasks, local community engagement, cultural presentations, language exchange sessions, and small volunteer-led initiatives. Volunteers received guidance from the Asociación Caminos team and were encouraged to develop their own ideas, enabling a structured yet flexible learning process. Regular mentoring ensured progress, reflection, and alignment with project goals.
Results
The project increased intercultural dialogue among local and international young people, strengthened volunteers’ soft skills, and boosted their confidence in managing initiatives. The association expanded its multicultural working environment and improved the quality of its European project activities. Participants gained clearer insight into European values, active citizenship, and cooperation across cultures. The experience fostered stronger local–international connections and supported a more inclusive community environment.
