Labour Market Issues Incl. Career Guidance / Youth Unemployment; EU Citizenship, EU Awareness And Democracy; Youth (Participation, Youth Work, Youth Policy)
Objectives The project strengthens the skills and competences of young people in Samsun and nearby cities, especially those with disadvantaged backgrounds. It gives them the chance to experience a new culture, develop cultural understanding, and apply what they learn to different areas of life. Because many have never been abroad, the project increases the participation of disadvantaged youth and supports their European awareness.
Implementation The project introduced young people to EVS opportunities and supported both long-term and short-term volunteering in two NGOs in Spain. Activities were based on non-formal learning and focused on cultural experience, social engagement, and personal development. Volunteers gained practical experience, language exposure, and new social and civic skills.
Results Participants became more active individuals, improved their integration into local communities, developed solidarity, and gained intercultural awareness. The project supported local community development and created new partnerships. It also encouraged partners to exchange experiences and good practices at the European level.
