Objectives
The project improved career guidance for low-skilled adult migrants by developing a European Casebook with 60 real cases and complementary tools. It aimed to strengthen the skills of career counsellors and trainers through structured case-based learning using the Socratic method. The goal was to deepen understanding of migrants’ challenges, support better guidance practices, and improve long-term integration into the labour market and society.
Implementation
Six intellectual outputs were produced:
- a Study on casebook use in migrant education,
- a multilingual European Casebook,
- two Guides (for trainers and for self-training),
- two E-courses, and
- an online depository for additional cases.
Partners from Austria, Germany, France, Italy, the UK, and Türkiye collected cases, built the training materials, piloted the tools, and organised dissemination events such as conferences and workshops. The website will be maintained for at least five years.
Results
The project delivered a complete training ecosystem for counsellors working with migrants. Practitioners gained stronger analytical, intercultural, and problem-solving skills. Stakeholders adopted the Casebook and e-courses for ongoing use. Long-term impact includes improved career guidance quality, stronger practitioner expertise, and better inclusion of migrants across partner countries.
