Objectives
The project addresses Black Sea pollution and climate change. It builds the capacity of young people to understand causes and impacts, develop solutions, and act with social responsibility. It promotes intercultural cooperation among Black Sea countries, strengthens organisational capacity in environmental youth work, and supports long-term awareness on sustainability.
Implementation
Activities include workshops on marine pollution and climate impacts, field studies with beach clean-ups and data collection, visits to local institutions, cultural exchange sessions, and final evaluation with Youthpass. Forty participants aged 18–25 from Türkiye, Romania, Bulgaria, and Georgia take part. Half face geographical or economic disadvantage. Selection focuses on interest in environment, sustainability, and social responsibility.
Results
Participants gain clear understanding of regional environmental problems and develop research, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership skills. Intercultural communication improves through shared tasks and dialogue. Young people return to their communities and run awareness activities, seminars, and local campaigns. Outputs and content reach wider audiences through social media. Long-term impact includes higher environmental awareness, stronger youth participation in sustainability efforts, and contributions to local policy discussions with concrete proposals.
